What makes a ‘perfect’ watch? Well, that really depends on the use-case. Casual watches are best for almost every occasion because they are simple and do the job of telling the time really well. They are also mostly inexpensive and for what it’s worth, it should serve both men and women nicely.
The perfect watch is something that you can wear with grace and confidence and it should suit every situation you’re going into. That is why I prefer getting a watch with a silver metallic strap just so that I can wear it casually while also allowing me to wear it on more formal occasions.
Today, I am going to provide you with some tips to help you choose the perfect watch for you.
For the most part, casual watches can be anywhere from $5-$500 depending on the watchmaker and its quality. This is typically what most people would purchase simply because it fits the budget of the vast majority of the world’s population.
Next is the $1000 mark. This is where people would think about heirloom watches or watches that they can hand down to their grandkids. Think about designer watches and things like that.
Watches that are more expensive than $1500 are considered to be luxury watches. This is the category where only people with a lot of disposable income and watch enthusiasts fall. Watches in this category are made with amazing precision and it is what’s underneath that makes them quite appealing for watch collectors.
Any watch that goes beyond $5,000 is considered to be ultra-luxury watches and they are typically made of precious earth metals and materials such as diamonds, sapphires, and so on.
The main feature of every watch is to tell the time and other than that, they are considered as optional. For instance, some people want to get a chronograph watch so that they can use it for racing and for stopwatch purposes.
For some, they want to have a smartwatch where they can swap the timeface, as well as have extra features on the side while also being able to connect them with their mobile devices.
But really, you can go away with just a simple timepiece that is devoid of any additional features and you’re still going to want to wear them regardless.
However, if you are going to use it for formal events, you may want to stick to either a leather strap or a metallic silver strap as they are the best for such occasions.
The durability of the watch will depend on the materials that were used. For instance, if you want a more scratch-resistant watch, you want to opt for those that are made of sapphire glass.
Leather straps are usually durable but would require more care and cleaning if you want it to last longer. Metallic straps are by far the most durable but they aren’t the most comfortable either. Again, this will depend on your preferences and circumstances.
Do Your Research
Nothing can trump the power of research when it comes to getting the perfect watch for you. Aside from searching from reputable brands, you also have to corroborate that with user reviews as well. Remember, you are buying a watch to make it last for a long time, so make every dollar count.
