If you are a photographer, chances are that you are already good in your craft. However, even if you’re an expert in photography, you will still need to build a website so that you can showcase your images. As a young photographer, you might have a hard time focusing on a particular niche. You probably want to be a “jack-of-all-trades”, but the truth is, clients do not want a photographer like that.

They want someone who specializes in one area so that whenever the photographer captures some images for them, that they can rely on them for that.

So, focus on one aspect first and you can proceed to others later. For example, you could focus on architectural photos or you can even specialize in food photography as well. Just remember to pick one and stick with it.

3. Do Not Put Vague Titles

When they choose one because they feel that this gallery has a collection of photos that they would want to see, then you will know that you’ve chosen the right title. Now, photographers have a lot of pictures taken at different scenes and situations. However, if you’re creating your own website, you must put only your best work on it.

You see, your site is kind of like your portfolio and you only want people to see your best images. People do not have a lot of time to look, so giving them your best stills is your top priority.

5. Make Your “About” Page as Informative as Possible

Your “About” page is something that your future employers will look at, so it is only fitting that you make it as informative as possible.

Highlight your specialty, your experience and how many years you’ve been in the industry, your previous clients, and other pertinent information that your clients would need to know about you.

Be straightforward and avoid using fluff in your sentences. Also, it is necessary to put your photo on the page as well. And don’t forget to put your contact details in case they want to get in touch with you. Include your phone no. and email address on the page.


Photographers also need to create a website that will highlight their best work. It doesn’t need to be too fancy, but it has to be just enough to accentuate the tone and the mood of your images.
